CFUW is committed to:

• the pursuit of knowledge

• the improvement of the status of women and human rights
• active participation in public affairs in a spirit of cooperation and friendship

We are sometimes known as the “Sherbrooke & District University Women’s Club”, a name used until 2003.

Membership

Membership in CFUW is open to any woman who holds a degree from an accredited Canadian university or college or from an international university or institution approved by IFUW, or who has earned a professional designation that currently requires a university or college degree. Associate and student members are also welcome in CFUW Sherbrooke & District.

CFUW Sherbrooke & District recently won two awards for 2007-2008 at the National AGM in Montreal, Quebec;

• CFUW Special Project Award for Grandmothers to Grandmothers and HIV/AIDS awareness
• CFUW Special Project Award for the publication Days to Remember; One-room Schoolhouses in the Eastern Townships of Quebec
