Book Reviews

The book includes calendar pages where birthdays, anniversaries, and special dates may be kept.

Ronald Ewing wrote in The Sherbrooke Record that “Days to Remember: One-room Schoolhouses in the Eastern Townships of Quebec is a wonderful addition to any collection of texts dealing with our local history with an emphasis upon the English population. It succeeds in a scholarly way while using an anecdotal style”.

Matthew Farfan at www.townshipsheritage.com stated that “this book is a treasure trove of local social history. The reminiscences contained therein seem as fresh in the minds of the tellers as though they had just happened yesterday, and we are fortunate indeed that they have been preserved for posterity”.

Days to Remember can be purchased at local bookstores and specialty shops in the Eastern Townships, through Townshippers’ Association (819-566-5717) and the website special projects page. In Montreal, books are available at Nicholas Hoare Bookshop and Concordia University Bookstore, and in Quebec City at La Maison Anglaise et Internationale.
